Beef & Broccoli Teriyaki
Delicious homemade teriyaki sauce on steak with broccoli & rice/noodles. Feeds our family of 6, with some leftovers. Tip: store your ginger in the freezer and it stays fresh longer and is easier to grate.

Ingredients

  • (2 pkgs/4 steaks) Sirloin/Round/New York Steak, sliced thinly
  • (1 cup) Soy Sauce
  • (2/3 cup) Brown Sugar
  • (1/2 cup) Water
  • (2 tbsp) Cornstarch
  • (1/8 tsp) Red Pepper Flakes
  • (3) Green Onions, thinly sliced
  • (4) Garlic cloves, minced
  • (4 tbsp) Fresh ginger, grated
  • (1 tsp) Sesame oil
  • (1 tsp) Coconut Oil, melted
  • Sesame seeds, toasted
  • Rice or Rice Noodles
  • Broccoli, fresh or frozen

Directions

Partially thaw steak ad slice thinly. Partially thawed makes it easier to slice.

In a small sauce pan, add coconut oil, sesame oil, minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 3-5 mins.

Add in soy sauce, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, cornstarch and water. Bring to a boil and let simmer while you cook the meat. Once sauce has thickened, remove from heat.

Cook meat in 2 batches in a frying pan, transfer to a bowl or plate. Add to sauce once meat is done cooking.

Roast, boil, or steam broccoli.

Cook rice noodles or rice, as directed.

Serve all together and top with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
